"we wanted something modern but similar in feel to the history of service found in european apothecaries." – matthew malin
established in 2004, our first apothecary occupies a space that was once just a narrow alleyway in between buildings. just a floor below the founders' old apartment, the apothecary was designed by brooklyn-based architect craig konyk to feature a stark white box in the entrance, creating an apothecary within an apothecary as well as a clean canvas for displaying skincare products.
contrasting with this modern passageway is the perfumery in the back, which maintains an old-world feel with original exposed brick walls and a poured concrete floor. an apothecary table inspired by dutch designer maarten baas stands in the center, creating a space for customers to engage with fragrances and candles.
